Charity and Compassion

The world isn’t necessarily a nice place, but we can make it better, one person or action at a time.  Below is a list of charitable organizations that I think have the right idea.

Charitable Giving/Sharing

Kiva – an  organization that provides micro-loans to men and women in under-developed countries.

Soldiers’ Angels – whether I agree with my nation’s foreign policy or not, it’s lonely being so far away from home and everything homely.  Several ways to help a soldier are linked on this site.

Samaritan’s Purse – This is a wonderful opportunity to help a child.  My church participated this year and everybody had a lot of fun, which is hopefully going to be experience by the kids receiving the packages!

I’ve gone on a couple of missions trips down into Mexico and the following links will take you to the organizations with which I’ve been involved.

Missions

Amor Ministries – organizes groups to build houses for families in the Tijuana (and other) areas in northern Mexico.

Foundation For His Ministry – a mission with branches in Baja California and Oaxaca, Mexico.  Really, this is an incredible group of people and working with them was a wonderful privilege.
